HOW TO PARTICIPATE 2026/2027

Individuals

INDIVIDUALS

All stories must be submitted by January 10, 2027.

Each child may submit only one story.
 

  1. Register for the contest 

    • ​Registering doesn’t mean you have to enter the competition. You can simply register now and decide later.

    • By registering, you’ll receive helpful updates, inspiration, and practical tips on how to write a great story. 

  2. Choose a book from your age category.

    • Check the books ​list here.​

  3. Read the chosen book (we recommend to read the book in English, but it is not essential).

  4. Write a short story in English based on the selected book: prequel, sequel or character story.

  5. ​Join one of our workshops to get help or inspired. Or check out the How to write a story section (it will be live from July).

  6. Upload your story on this website by January 10 2027. Upload will be open from December 1 2026.

  7. You are all done! Great job! Now please wait until March 2027 for the results. We will be in touch.

  8. Join the Award Ceremony. The date will be announced in December 2026.

By submitting your story, you agree we can use excerpts of the story for marketing purposes and publish it.

SCHOOLS

Each school should select up to three of the strongest stories in each age category. A maximum of three entries per category can be submitted. All stories must be uploaded through the website by
10 January 2027.

  1. Register your school for the contest 

    • Registering doesn’t mean you have to enter the competition. You can simply register now and decide later.

    • By registering, you’ll receive helpful updates, inspiration, and practical tips on how to write a great story. 

  2. Help your students to choose a book for their age category and encourage them to read it (we recommend to read the book in English, but it is not essential).

    • Check the books ​list here.​

  3. Inspire your students to write a short story in English based on the selected  book: prequel, sequel or character story.

  4. ​Join with your students or tell them about the workshops to get help or inspired. Or check out How to write a story section (it will be live from July).

  5. Upload your students stories online on this website by January 10 2027. Upload will be open from December 1 2026.

  6. You are all done! Thank you for leading your students! Please wait until March 2027 for the results. We will be in touch.

  7. Join the Award Ceremony. The date will be announced in December 2026.
