SCHEDULE Mondays, 18:30–19:30 Frequency: 12 online sessions, 4 in-person sessions WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN - Advanced reading and writing for academic purposes - Grammar and vocabulary in context (precision, style, register) - Literary and non-fiction analysis (argument, evidence, inference) - Critical thinking and discussion skills - Study skills for secondary school (planning, drafting, editing) - Working online SESSION FLOW - Weekly, 60 minutes live online (Google Meet) + independent tasks via Google Classroom - Live session: discussion, close reading/writing focus, Q&A, next-steps briefing - Independent work: reading comprehension, grammar/vocabulary in context, creative and analytical writing - Teacher feedback: individual comments and targets on submitted work - Contact sessions: 4 in-person meet-ups across the year for workshops, projects and community WHAT WILL STUDENTS BUILD - Writing: clear structure, effective paragraphs, accurate punctuation and varied style - Reading: close reading, annotation, inference, main ideas and supporting evidence - Vocabulary & grammar: precise word choice, control of complex sentences - Speaking & listening: concise contributions, respectful debate, presentation skills - Critical thinking: evaluate sources, compare viewpoints, justify opinions WHY CLASS ACTS - The only Prague community for English-speaking kids - Home for bilingual families & expats - 20 years experience in bilingual education COURSE FEE EARLY BIRD till August 15 2026 (registration and payment) Semester I: 3 600 CZK / semester Semester II: 3 600 CZK / semester Newcomers receive set of books, approx fee: 1 900 CZK / set PAYMENT This is a prepaid course.
