Service Description

Read & Play English on Thursdays (90 minutes) is a creative English literacy session for English-speaking children aged 5–7. Led by an experienced teacher, each class is built around a high-quality children’s book and a playful, structured routine that helps children fall in love with stories while strengthening early reading and writing skills. Through shared reading, discussion, and hands-on activities, children learn to understand texts, think about meaning, and express their ideas with growing confidence. Along the way, we gently introduce school skills too: listening, turn-taking, working in a group, and building a calm reading habit that supports language development. WHO IS IT FOR English-speaking children aged 5–7 SCHEDULE Thursdays, 15:30-17:00 (90 minutes) Frequency: weekly, 10 sessions / II. semester: 9. 4., 16. 4., 23. 4., 30. 4., 14. 5., 21. 5., 28. 5., 4. 6., 11. 6., 18. 6. WHAT WILL CHILDREN LEARN - Early reading & writing foundations (sounds, words, simple sentences, directionality, print awareness). - Understanding texts (characters, setting, beginning–middle–end, cause and effect). - Critical thinking (predicting, asking questions, making connections, “why” and “how” discussions). WHAT WILL CHILDREN BUILD - A positive reading habit, seeing books as fun, meaningful session flow - A growing word bank (topic vocabulary and “story words”) - Stronger school skills: independence, collaboration, and focus WHY CLASS ACTS - The only Prague community for English-speaking kids - Home for bilingual families & expats - Warm, professional and experienced teachers - 20 years experience in bilingual education FEE & HOW TO PAY 4 500 CZK / semester incl. all materials Value: 90‑minute weekly class with small groups and expert teachers.
